The XXXTentacion NFT collection is a tribute to the rapper’s life and career. It includes exclusive footage from his REVENGE world tour and cover artwork created by Stephen Bliss, the famed illustrator of Grand Theft Auto. Despite the tragic loss of the rapper, this project is a fitting tribute to the artist’s legacy.
The estate of the late rapper has announced the release of five new non-fungible tokens, or NFTs, in a partnership with crypto-collectible startup YellowHeart. The collection contains five songs from the late rapper’s vast catalog, as well as rare and unreleased material.
The NFT collection will be available for fans next Monday, May 10th, at 9 AM PST. The sale will coincide with the YellowHeart NFT marketplace, and interested individuals will have until Saturday, May 15th to bid. In addition to XXXTentacion’s NFT, the NFT collection of MF Doom and Nirvana leader Kurt Cobain will also be available.
NFTs have become a lucrative source of income for musicians and artists. Many high-profile artists have jumped on the bandwagon and are now offering digital collectibles of their music. One recent example is an alternate music video for MF DOOM’s Dead Bent song, while Babymetal has also released a line of trading cards. The XXXTentacion NFT platform has already gained momentum in the music industry as the first music NFT platform. It runs on a public blockchain and allows artists to market directly to their fans.
